Selling through Third Party Platforms

Third-party marketplaces: the right platform, the real numbers, a working plan.

Marketplaces like Amazon, Etsy, eBay, Vinted, Not On The High Street and Facebook Marketplace can open up customers you won’t reach through your own website, but each one works differently, charges differently, and suits different products. This session gives you a supplier-neutral, hands-on look at how they compare, so you can work out which platform (if any) is right for your business before you commit time or stock to it.

You’ll assess your products against real platform criteria, customer fit, fees, brand control and fulfilment capacity, and come away with a ranked first and second choice, backed by reasons rather than guesswork. The core of the session is unit economics: using a calculator to work out contribution margin per order once you’ve accounted for product cost, platform fees, advertising, packaging, shipping and expected returns, so you know your minimum viable price and break-even volume before you list a single item.

We’ll also cover what marketplace selling demands operationally: stock, order processing, customer service and returns, and how to build a listing that actually converts, from titles and photography to keywords and trust signals. You’ll finish with a practical 90-day action plan: what to prepare, when to launch, and what to measure once you’re live.

Reserve your place: spaces are limited to keep the session practical.
