The Wolds Project: Farm Diversification and Sustainable Tourism in East Yorkshire

Lawrence and Jenny returned to their family farm in East Yorkshire after leaving their jobs in London to establish The Wolds Project, a sustainable farm diversification venture designed to connect visitors with farming, nature and the Yorkshire Wolds.

The project features three environmentally conscious cabins built using natural materials, including straw grown and baled on the farm. Guests will have the opportunity to learn about regenerative farming while exploring the surrounding countryside.

With support from Invest East Yorkshire’s Business Support Services team, Lawrence and Jenny strengthened their business plan and successfully accessed grant funding, enabling them to add an extra cabin and increase the project’s potential impact on tourism and other local businesses.
