2024 Employment law changes – What does this mean for your business?
The Employment Rights Bill is the biggest change to employment law in a generation which will impact businesses of all sizes. As a business and employer, do you have concerns or questions about the impact of government changes to employment law? Are you aware of how these changes could impact your business?
This workshop will cover an in-depth review of the forthcoming changes that are relevant to SMEs in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire. We will take you through the new draft bill announced on 10th October 2024, what you need to prepare for and what action do you need to take. This includes:
- Day one rights including unfair dismissal, sick pay, paternity leave and parental leave.
- Probation periods
- Zero hours contracts
- Flexible working
- Fire and rehire practices
- Trade Union access
- Creation of a Fair Work Agency
Along with the Employment Rights Bill, we will explore the Worker Protection Act which creates a duty on employers to take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment of their employees in the workplace. This puts the onus on the business being proactive in anticipating sexual harassment in the workplace and the actions you need to take to prevent it.
During this two-hour update, we’ll share the changes with you, understand what it means for your business, the changes you will need to make and develop a plan for action. We’ll also answer your questions to leave you with the piece of mind that you’ve got it covered.
