Established in October 2022, The Hornsea Collective is a community-powered not-for-profit organisation that supports independent businesses in Hornsea. By promoting collaboration, it celebrates the town’s unique charm and showcases the talent of local entrepreneurs, helping to strengthen Hornsea’s business community.
On Sunday, 15 September 2024, The Hornsea Collective, led by Sher King, organised the Business Showcase at The Floral Hall, Hornsea. Supported financially by East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s (ERYC) UK Shared Prosperity Funding (UKSPF), the event aimed to showcase local trades and services, enabling businesses to directly promote their products and services to the community.
ERYC’s, Invest East Yorkshire Business Support Services Team, represented by Sarah Hartley, actively assisted the Collective by providing marketing advice, covering venue hire costs and offering subsidies to businesses wishing to showcase their products and services to help increase take up. The event hosted 17 local businesses, providing valuable networking opportunities and direct engagement with potential customers. Businesses ranged from interior designers and installers to builders merchants, catering services to wine merchants, therapists to pottery workshops and many more.

Participant feedback was actively collected, highlighting strong appreciation for the affordability and promotional exposure the event provided.
