Basics of Social Media for Business

Are you ready to make social media work for your business?

This practical and information-rich training session will give you a solid foundation in social media marketing. You’ll leave with real, actionable insights — not just theory — that you can put into practice straight away.

What You’ll Learn
Through a tailored learning approach, you’ll discover how to:
• Understand the key social media platforms and identify which ones best connect you with your ideal audience.
• Use a Customer Persona Mapping tool (provided for completion after the session) to align your messaging and content with the platforms your customers actually use.
• Build a strategy that works for your business — focused, achievable, and effective.

Explore the essentials of content creation, from short-form videos and product photography to long-form articles, behind-the-scenes posts, and customer stories. Learn how different types of content perform across platforms and how to tailor your posts to engage your audience.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll walk away with:
• A shortlist of recommended platforms for your business.
• The beginnings of a personalised social media action plan to elevate your online presence.

What’s the Right Social Media Channel for My Business?

There are over 500 social media channels (at the last count) and several of these are high profile. But what’s right for your business? This session (linked to the ABC of social media) will look at which channels you should consider for your business.

Our Channel Chooser will help you assess what are the right social media channels for your business.

This FREE workshop is very much connected to the ABC of social media. Whereas ABC looks at the social media channels from their perspective, this session switches it around and frames the channels based on what business might need – and what’s achievable. We will review delegates own businesses and any existing social media activity they undertake. Collectively we’ll map this out, thinking about what could work for who.

Date
12 February 2025, 1.30pm – 4.30pm

Location
