Invest East Yorkshire, Invest Hull and Visit Hull and East Yorkshire are proud to celebrate English Tourism Week (15-24 March 2024) highlighting our diverse, exciting and vibrant sector in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
This annual campaign raises awareness of the industry and the mission to champion Tourism as a key sector within the region.
Did you know?
In 2019, the UK welcomed 40.8 million international visitors, but this number drastically fell to 11.1 million in 2020 due to the pandemic. However, there was a significant recovery in 2022, with 31.2 million overseas visitors, marking a 388.7% increase from 2021. Overseas visitor spending also saw a rebound, with £26.5 billion spent in 2022, nearly returning to the pre-pandemic levels of £28.4 billion in 2019.
To support the rebound and help local tourism businesses gain some of that value, Invest East Yorkshire and Invest Hull are pleased to offer three complimentary online workshops tailored to Hull and East Riding’s visitor-oriented businesses. The workshops are designed to focus on marketing tools and techniques aimed at enhancing the visibility and awareness of businesses to their clientele.
The development of these workshops was conducted in partnership with Susan Briggs, a renowned figure in tourism marketing with over three decades of experience. Susan brings a wealth of practical, tested advice to each workshop, ensuring participants leave with definite action points and heightened confidence in marketing their business efficiently, avoiding unnecessary expenditure of time and money.
The workshops:
